Here are some helpful hints:
1 People should learn about the topic by reading the board but do not attach your research paper to the backboard.
2 You need the font to be legible from a distance.
3 Graphs, charts, timelines, and/or displays are neat ways to learn a lot of information so include at least one of these ideas.
4 Your paper needs to have at least these things: title page, table of contents, abstract, body of research, conclusion, and bibliography. ( in this order)
5 If you have pictures, add captions to the bottom of them.
OTHER TIPS:
1. School uniforms may not be worn by participants at the State Fair.
2. No cell or any communication device is allowed while judging is being conducted.
3. Participants have a total of 3-4 minutes for presentation and questions by the judge. (This time may be adjusted based on quantity of projects)
4. Participants must supply their own equipment.
5. Only one participant allowed on the floor with the project which includes group projects.
6. Plan ahead on eating arrangements. See "Schedule of Events" tab for additional information.
7. No parents allowed in Coliseum during judging. Have a plan with your child on where they should meet you when they are released. Cell phone may be turned on after release to communicate with parent.
8. Don't forget your project before you leave for the day! (following judging)
